Let the countdown begin!   Leave a comment

We’re officially less than six weeks from our Panama Canal cruise and the momentum is shifting from casual thinking about the trip to serious planning.

In the last two weeks we’ve ordered a new piece of luggage, a new camera, and booked the transfer from the airport to the hotel.

The camera was last year’s model…which had more reviews than the current versions out there…and saved us 50%!  Booked the airport transfer through Super Shuttle ($17 pp for a shared van from LAX to the Crown Plaza in San Pedro or $55 for a private van for 2).   Had already booked the hotel through Priceline for $65 last year, so I’m feeling pretty frugal here!

Piles are beginning to form in the room that we use for packing and I’m thinking it may be time to go over my packing list for any modifications.  Yes, I have a cruise packing list saved on my computer.  Boy does it save time.  I have everything listed from my contact lens solution and passports, to reminders to call the credit card company and let them know I’m traveling!

This is the really fun time when the trip is getting close enough that you can almost smell the ocean, and visions of sitting on my balcony with a cappuccino begin dancing through my head!

Not bad for flights to London!   Leave a comment

$641.18 from Boston to London round-trip for the months of September –  December on British Airways.

Check Thanksgiving week with 1800flyeurope.com and the price came in at $610.20 on BA and Virgin Atlantic.

Not too shabby and Thanksgiving in London is beautiful from what I understand (I know people who go there every year) with the city all decked out for Christmas!
